- Meet our Executive Director and full time staff.
-
Art
Thiessen has served as our executive director since 1995.
His wife, Jackie, serves, on a part time basis, as our
food services co-ordinator. They will always make you feel welcome
whether you visit them on the phone or in person at the ranch.

Kendra
Pullman joined the Dallas Valley staff in 2003. She is our
administrative assistant and manages the camp office, serves
as hostess to our guest groups, and when she can find the time
captures the action at DVRC with her camera. When you phone the
camp you will most likely hear her pleasant voice.
-
-
Tanis Klippenstine, after
many years of faithful service on a part time basis, joined us
in April, 2004 to become our first full time riding director.
She manages our riding string of 80 horses, our summer riding
staff and program, and trail rides for guest groups throughout
the rest of the year.
-
Stephanie Makellky
joined our staff team in the fall of 2008. Stephanie has been
a camper at DVRC. She then joined our staff, as a junior teen,
working in our food service with her mother who is one of our
head cooks. More recently she has continued to work in food services
and as a cabin leader in our summer program. She is in charge
of custodial and housekeeping services. We have many guest groups
here throughout the year and her main job is to prepare their
accomodations for them. "Miss Clean" will clean up
before you and behind you but please give her all the help you
can just before you leave!
-
Trevor Funk
joined the Dallas Valley staff in February of 2010 as our site
manager. He and his wife Elvira both have previous camp experience.
The Funks have three daughters, November, Winter and Brooklyn.
Trevor is in charge of maintenance, grounds keeping, and a host
of other tasks that are necessary to keep the facilities and
camp equipment running smoothly.

- History
- The vision of developing a piece of Boggy Creek pasture land
into a camp site where children, youth, and adults could be exposed
to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be nurtured in their Christian
faith has guided the camp board through the past two and a half
decades. It has been a time of constant "growing pains,"
but it has brought Dallas Valley into the 21st century with a
camp site that can now accommodate 1750 campers each summer as
well as minister to adults, and host guest groups throughout
the rest of the year. Read more about this by going to the "Incredible Journey."

- When We Provide the Programming.
- Our purpose, at Dallas Valley, is to provide a well-rounded
camping experience with some basic religious teaching that will
encourage campers to believe that there is a God who cares for
them and that it is possible for them to have a simple faith
in Jesus, His Son. We believe that this faith can be a vital
ingredient in the development of good character, effective social
skills and in realizing their full potential in life. A retreat
or camp experience with its emphasis on the development of self
esteem, physical and interpersonal skills and spiritual values
can make a positive and life-long impact on the camper. Try us
this summer, as a camper, or bring a group to our camp!
-
- Our Summer Staff.
- Camp staff are chosen on the basis of their ability to understand
children and adolescents, give competent leadership in daily
activities, and to help each camper have a happy and growing
camp experience. A staff training session is conducted, in late
spring, prior to the opening of our summer program.
-
- Health & Safety.
- Our camp boasts a well equipped medical center. The camp
nurse resides in the center and is available to campers and staff
on a 24-hour daily basis. Emergency transportation to the Regina
hospitals, is ready at all times.
